Q. Why do I need a qualified electrician?

Electrical work must be handled by a licensed professional. It is also illegal to work as an electrician without a license. If you or someone you know performs electrical work it can lead to serious injury or even death.

Q. Do you have insurance?

Yes. We have insurance cover for public liability insurance, workers insurance and indemnity insurance.

Q. When does re-wiring need to be done?

You will need a rewire if;

  1. An electrical contractor surveys your home or premises and deems a rewiring necessary.
  2. If you buy a new home and notice the wiring looks old or if the circuit doesn’t include earth.
  3. Aluminum wires were used instead of copper ones.
  4. Your wiring was implemented prior to 1990.

Q. When does an electrical inspection need to be done?

A periodic inspection should be undertaken;

  • Every 5 years for your home
  • 3 years for a rental property
  • Every year for your swimming pool
  • When letting out property
  • When selling/ buying property

Q. I need a new data point, can you help?

Yes. We can install new data points as required for both residential homes and commercial offices.

Q. Can you fix broken lights?

Yes. We are licensed to carry out all electrical repairs on lights and all electrical appliances.

Faulty wiring and ‘naked’ wires are the major cause of electrical shocks.

Q. What is the average cost of an electrician?

The average cost charged by electricians is between $40 to $150 per hour. This depends on many factors like the experience of the electrician and whether it’s an an after hours emergency.

Q. How do I reset my circuit breaker?

Firmly push the circuit breaker to the ‘OFF’ position then turn it back to the ‘ON’ position.
